Uhhh...it's July?

Holy mackerel, it’s almost mid July and I have zero posts for June!

I would say this is a testament to how crazy things have been around here lately. And now, it’s all come to a somewhat screeching halt for an unknown amount of time (I’ll talk more about why later) but I finally have some time to sit down and write about everything’s that happened. And, a lot has happened!

  • I had my first birthday in Peru and turned 26 surrounded by my lovely Lambayeque volunteers.
  • We had camp VALOR and I brought four awesome boys.
  • I hit the YEAR mark in Peru!
  • My health promoters group “Pasos Adelante” started and took off with popularity.
  • We had the 15ers and Nicole’s despedida (going away party) and they’re leaving this coming weekend!
  • My boyfriend Justin came back to visit and we had many adventures, including running the Pacasmayo Half Marathon together.
  • The school is currently shut down and the teachers are on strike indefinitely.

This is all quite a bit to cover, so I’m going to break into bite-size pieces. Just to let you know though, life is great, I’m loving where I’m at, and I’m excited for my second year of service. Everyone says the second year goes by fast, and I definitely believe it. August 19th will be the true “Year Mark” of my service as it was my swearing in date last year, but that day is already quickly approaching.

Well, lets get on with things!
